How To Choose The Best Flowchart Softwareįlowchart software allows you to create visual diagrams to express an idea or process clearly and logically.Anytime anything is drawn or measured, this will be waiting for an input. And in the very last part of our interface is going to be our measurements box in the lower right hand corner here. For example, if I activate my tape measure tool by clicking on this icon here, the text in the lower left is going to give me some options on how to use it. This text will change with the tools that are active. The bottom left of the program contains text with helpful hints as to what we might be trying to do. Then below that is our drawing space where we draw. Under the dropdown menus is the toolbar with icons that can activate a tool. For example, if you can't find the Follow Me tool in any of the dropdown menus, you can start to type "follow me," then hover over the title and it'll show you exactly where it is. It's great for those times when you can't find an action. We also have the Extensions dropdown menu, which is kind of like an add-on to SketchUp. You may have multiple windows active, but again, it's helpful to minimize them and stack them off to the side on the right. To remove it from your view, you can click on the red circle here. ![]() I prefer to place them on the right hand side and minimize them by clicking on the top bar here when they aren't in use. To open a window, you'll click on the title, and a window will appear. But Mac users will need to open them manually through this dropdown menu. You may hear me talk about it in future videos. On a PC, these windows are available on the sidebar, which is called the default tray. The Window menu is an important one for this video because this is where the main differences happen between a Mac and a PC. The Tools menu is similar to the Drawing menu in that we will be using other methods to activate many of these tools. Next step, the Camera menu will help us change the way we are viewing our model. The Draw menu has tools that we will need to draw, but it's rare to use the dropdown menu for these as we will generally be using icons seen below or keyboard shortcuts for more efficient modeling. The most popular one is the large tool set, but again, we'll return to this in the future. The View menu contains a list of tool palettes that we'll be referring to in other videos. The Edit menu carries the all-important undo, as well as copy, paste and more. This is where we will open, save, import and export files. The File menu is, again, very similar to other interfaces. The most important option here is the preferences window. You'll click on the title and more options will become available. And using these dropdown menus are a lot like the majority of other programs on a computer. On top, we have some dropdown menu options. Let's take a look at the Mac interface for SketchUp.
